Those of you who watched the construction video of this building, knowing the pace that I can work at, are probably wondering how the painting and weathering process went.
As I said in the video, the prototype structure is basically white, with some grey trim. So that was what I painted it. Nothing in the real world stays white for any length of time so after I’d finished painting the trim grey, and the corrugated wall a dirty rusty mess colour, using acrylic paints. I just ran a wash of the dirty water over the walls. To be honest, I think it looks quite passable. It’s killed the white totally, and the way that the wash has run into the mortar courses is really quite pleasing.
I think it will look the part on the layout.
